50 Cent, Shaquille O’Neal, and Kenya Barris are aiming to purchase BET

In March 2023, Tyler Perry and Byron Allen expressed their interest in acquiring BET when it was put up for sale. A few weeks later, Diddy’s name emerged as a potential buyer. Now, there’s news of another group actively pursuing the acquisition.

On May 5, it was disclosed that 50 Cent, Shaquille O’Neal, and Kenya Barris have shown keen interest in acquiring the network and are actively engaged in the process of finalizing the deal.

This week, Fifty and Barris were seen in New York, meeting at Paramount offices to discuss the potential acquisition of the network. Financial resources won’t pose a problem for them, and they will have support from the investment firm CVC when they present their offer.

According to an insider who spoke to TMZ, the three individuals might be closer to reaching an agreement than some may think, although it’s not confirmed yet, stating, “While it’s not finalized, they’re deeply involved in the process.”

The successful “Power” series, created by the rap mogul, has enjoyed significant popularity on STARZ, and he recently secured a multiyear deal with FOX.
