Tasha K, Popular YouTuber, Files for Bankruptcy to Dodge $4.25M Payment to Cardi B

Gossip Blogger Tasha K Files for Bankruptcy After Losing Defamation Suit Against Cardi B

In a twist of fate, YouTuber Tasha K (real name Latasha Kebe), known for her gossip content, is facing financial turmoil after being ordered to pay $4.25 million in a defamation lawsuit filed by rapper Cardi B. Tasha has now filed for bankruptcy, citing her inability to fulfill the monetary obligations.

According to Billboard, Tasha submitted court documents revealing her dire financial situation. With total assets amounting to less than $60,000, her possessions include a 2021 Chevrolet Silverado, two Louis Vuitton purses, a mere $95 in her bank account, and her YouTube channel, “UnWineWithTashaK,” the value of which is listed as “unknown.” Last year, Cardi’s legal team garnished Tasha’s Google account, which held a total of $10,000.

This is Tasha’s third move to evade payment to the “Up” rapper since a jury found her liable for defamation and invasion of privacy through portrayal in a false light, intentional infliction of emotional distress and two other misconduct in January 2022. Initially, Tasha was ordered to pay $1.25 million in damages, along with an additional $3 million for punitive damages and legal fees. Over the past year, Tasha filed two appeals, the first of which was dismissed due to lack of jurisdiction. Unfortunately, the second appeal was unsuccessful as Tasha and her legal team failed to present their argument properly before the trial judge, resulting in the forfeiture of their right to appeal to a higher court.
