Saudi Arabia: Sadio Mane Close To Breaking Record

In his first season outside Europe, Sadio Mane has already scored 12 goals and provided 6 assists in 26 games played in the Saudi Pro League, for Al Nassr, where he plays alongside Portuguese superstar Cristiano Ronaldo. The Senegalese is directly involved in 18 goals for his team, who currently occupy 2nd place in the league standings with 68 points after 28 games.

Sadio Mane is now just one goal shy of the record he set in his first season with Liverpool. The “Diato” from Bambali scored 13 goals for the Reds in 2016-2017. It was a mixed first season, however, as the Mersey club had high hopes for the Senegalese international, who joined for around 42 million euros from Southampton.

Since then, Sadio Mane has improved his statistics, becoming one of the English Premier League’s top scorers. In fact, he finished as the league’s joint top scorer with his team-mate Mohamed Salah (Egypt) and Pierre Emerick Aubameyang (Arsenal) (Gabon), with 22 goals apiece. That was in the 2028-2019 season, which saw Liverpool finish with 97 pts, just behind Manchester City (1st, 98 pts).

After winning everything with Liverpool, Sadio Mane signed for Bayern Munich. Sadly, this adventure ended badly, before he joined Al Nassr last summer for 30 million euros.
