Erling Haaland has injured himself while playing with his Norway national team. The news has dealt a setback to Manchester City’s preparations for their next match against Liverpool.
The striker entered a friendly match that his club ultimately won 2-0, but his participation will infuriate City supporters and and his boss Pep Guardiola. Ola Sand, the national team physician, speculated that the 23-year-old may have strained his ankle, as he has previously.
Since the beginning of the season, Haaland has been on a roll, tallying 17 goals in 18 games in all competitions. The Norwegian international’s possible absence would be devastating for Guardiola and City, who are attempting to hold onto the treble they won the previous year.
According to Vg, Ola Sand, the doctor for the Norwegian national team, stated: “He twisted his ankle slightly, where he’s a bit vulnerable.” It hurts a lot at first, but it gets better really soon. We’ll check up with him tomorrow.
In less that two weeks , City takes on Liverpool, so we’ll have to wait and see how fit Haaland is. Guardiola’s group now leads the Reds by one point in the Premier League.
