Roc Nation Sports of Jay-Z Acquires the Brazilian Soccer Agency TFM

Roc Nation Sports, the sports division of JAY-Z owned Roc Nation, has made a significant expansion into South America by acquiring the renowned Brazilian soccer agency TFM. The São Paulo-based TFM Agency has been added to Roc Nation Sports International, along with notable soccer stars Vinicius Junior of Real Madrid and Gabriel Martinelli of Arsenal, who have joined the agency’s roster.

With the inclusion of TFM, Roc Nation Sports International now represents approximately 120 soccer players since launching its division in 2019. The agency already represents prominent players such as Kevin De Bruyne from Manchester City, Romelu Lukaku from Inter Milan, Federico Dimarco, Chris Richards, Axel Witsel, and Jack McGlynn.

Juan Perez, the president of Roc Nation Sports, expressed his enthusiasm for the expansion into Brazil, highlighting the country’s passion for sports and music. He sees the move as a testament to Roc Nation’s growing influence in the game of soccer and its intentions on a global scale.

The partnership between Roc Nation and TFM was announced through a promo video on Instagram, emphasizing the beginning of a new era and welcoming Brazil to the Roc Nation family.

According to Forbes, the acquisition of TFM is expected to significantly increase revenue margins as agents receive a 10 percent commission on transfer deals and approximately six percent of player wages.

Frederico Pena, the founder of TFM Agency, emphasized the comprehensive and global representation that Roc Nation will provide to the South American market. He believes that by introducing a full-service sports representation service, they are filling a void and elevating the level of service available to athletes in the region.

Earlier this year, JAY-Z and Roc Nation took a stand against racism in soccer when defending Romelu Lukaku, who faced racial abuse during a Coppa Italia semi-final match. Roc Nation Sports released a powerful statement calling for unity and accountability in eradicating racism from the world of sports. The company took out a full-page ad in the Italian newspaper La Gazzetta dello Sport, declaring “enough is enough” and urging a collective effort to combat bigotry in sports.
